The space began as a sloped lawn with a lower patio and upper deck – our job was to turn the in-between into a Mediterranean paradise on the East Sussex coastline. We had to make the space practical so we levelled the bank with some feature curved corten steel retaining walls. It was important that the planting was the wow-factor so we went really bold on the textures and colours, ensuring these plants would thrive on the harsh coastline. The existing materials pair really well with the addition of the gravel and corten steel.
